Project Overview:
This project involved designing and building a small glider through a full engineering design process, including concept development, trade studies, aerodynamic analysis, and a Critical Design Review (CDR). Our team evaluated multiple configurations to optimize stability, lift, and manufacturability before fabricating the final design using lightweight foam and composite components. The completed glider was then pressurized with water to 60 psi and launched vertically like a rocket, transitioning to gliding flight to demonstrate the aerodynamic performance of our design.
