Class Overview:

In this Introduction to Rocket Engineering course, I developed analytical and experimental skills related to rocket propulsion and flight dynamics. The first portion of the class focused on linear ordinary differential equations and propulsion modeling, where I built an Excel-based simulation for a liquid–solid hybrid rocket engine, designed and 3D printed a fuel grain in SolidWorks, and ultimately participated in a hot-fire test of a hybrid rocket engine using our custom fuel grain.

The second portion of the course focused on flight testing and instrumentation: each student designed and built a model rocket equipped with an Arduino-based data acquisition system and pressure sensor to estimate altitude during flight, while the team collaborated on analysis and reporting of the experimental results.
